You are now reading Part 3 of Promise! Enjoy my lovelies <3
Part 1 Part 2
When you were six, you held a fake wedding by the swings with a kid you met at the park. You never saw your childhood “spouse" again after that day. Today you received a letter summoning you to a foreign country...where your wedding to the heir to the throne fifteen years ago is seen as valid.
Turns out, he's lying to you? Wait...WHAT?
"I was wondering if you were still interested in marrying Prince Bakugo to my daughter, Princess Uraraka."
Wait... What?
Your heart leapt in your chest as your eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. You turned to Katsuki, observing the snarl on his face, and then to his parents, who seemed amused by the situation.
"I think you forget your place quite often, isn't that so?" Queen Mitsuki stood up, arms crossed over her chest as she glared down at the other woman.
"The purpose of this dinner was to meet the potential future Queen of the Dynamite Kingdom," King Masaru added, standing up as well.
The room fell silent, everyone staring at you.
"This is absurd! Truly, you do not mean that a mere commoner can handle a kingdom of such greatness," the lady retorted, causing mumbles of agreement to erupt within the audience.
You felt a sudden surge of anxiety, and your confidence began to falter.
"Watch your mouth. She's more capable than you can imagine."
A loud voice immediately silenced the entire table of nobles and dignitaries. You looked up at the bearer of such power and found Katsuki looking down at you with a look you couldn't quite decipher.
Then it hit you.
Right. This was supposed to be all a game of pretend. He holds no genuine concern for you. You are just another pawn in his game.
You only nodded emotionlessly at him, who shot you a confused look before glaring at the entire table. The people turned their attention to the King, who, despite his now cold demeanor, had a glint of amusement in his warm eyes.
The night progressed further, and the members of the King and Queen's Council all introduced themselves to you, along with a couple of special guests, some other lower-ranking Kings and Queens, and a few dukes and duchesses.
Unfortunately, you had to shake hands with the unsightly woman from earlier—the one who'd dared to question your presence, comparing the ethereal beauty of someone such as yourself to a mere princess. She met your eyes with a forced smile, her grip a bit too firm, but you held your composure, refusing to give her the satisfaction of seeing you flustered.
As you turned to greet another guest, you heard the woman mutter under her breath, "This farce won't last. A commoner can't hold a crown."
You stiffened, feeling a surge of anger. Katsuki's grip on your waist tightened. He was about to step forward until you untangled yourself from his grasp.
"Oh, my apologies, Miss Uraraka. Does my presence threaten you?"
The woman's eyes widened, and she quickly looked away. Katsuki scoffed and dragged you away from her. "Don't go throwing hands now, dollface."
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding, your heart racing at the nickname he just called you. "She had it coming," you muttered, but the tension in your body slowly eased as you felt Katsuki’s protective hold around you.
"Yeah, but she's not worth it," he replied, his voice low but fierce. "Don't let people like her get to you."
A commotion near the entrance drew your attention. The doors burst open, and a young man with striking green hair and intense jade eyes strode in, flanked by a tall, dual-colored-haired man with heterochromatic eyes.
"Second and Third Princes, Prince Izuku Midoriya and Prince Shoto Todoroki," a guard announced, his voice shaking with the unexpected arrival.
And wow, were they hot.
The male with glossy jade eyes had his eyes fixated on you, or rather, the tight grip that Katsuki had on your waist. He laughed, walking up to the both of you.
"Kacchan! Long time no see, huh?" he gave a dorkish grin and Katsuki groaned. "Shut the fuck up, damn nerd."
They seemed to be longtime friends because the other Prince, Prince Midoriya, only rolled his eyes mockingly. Katsuki only nodded to Prince Todoroki who returned the gesture politely.
Oh, so these must be the other two high-ranking Princes of Japan, huh? They looked so different from what Mina had explained. You would have thought Prince Todoroki to be ugly, considering the way she emphasized the scar around his eye.
But genuinely? You thought he looked cool with it.
And the other dude with the mop of messy green hair was astonishing. He looked at you and winked, causing you to go red. "Midoriya, leave the poor girl alone. She looks helpless," the voice belonged to the now smirking male with those piercing heterochromatic eyes.
You felt like putty when Katsuki laughed, the sound of it causing you to lean back into him more.
You gave a polite nod, trying to mask your embarrassment at the two more princes. "It's a pleasure to meet you both."
"The pleasure is ours," Midoriya replied, his smile warm. "I've heard a lot about you."
You opened your mouth to respond, but no words came out.
"What's wrong, Kacchan? Is she shy?" Midoriya teased, earning a glare from Katsuki.
"Shut up, Deku," Katsuki growled, his grip on your waist tightening.
Todoroki stepped forward, a small smile on his face. "It's understandable. Tonight has been overwhelming."
Midoriya grinned and leaned closer to you. "Don't worry, Princess. We'll make sure you're comfortable here. If you ever need anything, just let me know." He winked at you, causing your blush to deepen.
Katsuki's scowl intensified. "Back off, nerd. She's with me." He snarled, and Midoriya laughed like that wasn't a threat to him. He and Todoroki exchanged a mischievous look.
Midoriya chuckled. "Relax, Kacchan. I'm just being friendly." He turned to you again, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "But really, are your parents beavers?" he asks, tilting his head to one side.
"Uh... No?" you deadpanned, looking at a snickering Todoroki. What was that supposed to mean?
"'Cause dammmmmm!" he drags out. You chuckle a bit, and Katsuki screams at his friend, holding your waist tighter.
"Stop hitting on her. You're making the pomeranian angry."
"Ha! Like I'd be angry because of a damn Deku!" Katsuki pointed to himself and beamed.
"Snowflake, are you sure you want to be with someone like him? Come with me to the Todoroki Kingdom, I'll pamper you like a princess." He winked, playfully glaring at Bakugo.
The ash-blond male froze for a second. Would you really leave him for Todoroki?
You glanced at Katsuki, who seemed to be on the edge of snapping. "I think I’m quite happy here," you said softly, trying to diffuse the situation.
Midoriya’s grin widened. "Just remember, the offer stands." He winked again, causing the crimson-eyed male to growl lowly.
Without warning, Katsuki leaned down and kissed you, right there in front of everyone. Your eyes widened as a few tears brimmed them.
You heard a chorus of gasps from around the room. His kiss was fierce and possessive, making your mind swirl. You felt a rush of warmth at his protectiveness, even though you knew it was all part of the act.
Right?
When he finally pulled away, you were breathless and stunned. Katsuki’s eyes bore into yours, a mixture of determination and something else you couldn’t quite place. He turned to face Midoriya and Todoroki, who were both watching with varying degrees of surprise and amusement.
"Just making sure everyone knows," Katsuki said, his voice low and dangerous. "She’s with me."
You stood there, still trying to process what had just happened. The room was silent, all eyes on you and Katsuki. Finally, Midoriya broke the silence with a chuckle.
“Well, that certainly clears things up,” he said, grinning. “Congratulations, you two.” Todoroki raised an eyebrow, a small smile on his face. "You suit."
Katsuki huffed, pulling you closer. “Damn right. And don’t forget it.”
You nodded your head coyly and smiled up at them, watching as they bid Katsuki goodbye and slandered off to, as Todoroki called it, 'cause trouble'.
Katsuki let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair.
"Idiots," he muttered under his breath before turning to you. "You okay?"
You nodded, finally finding your voice. "Yeah, I'm okay. They seem... nice."
Katsuki rolled his eyes. "Don't let Deku get to ya. I dunno what's gotten into him. Damn nerd." He felt like Midoriya had tried taking you away from him. He decided he didn't like that feeling and would speak to the jade-eyed womanizer in the morning.
Knowing them, they would spend the night.
You chuckled softly, the tension easing a bit. "What was that?" You asked, referring to the almost animalistic snarl he had released on Midoriya.
"Nothing. Just a habit from my teen years," he grumbled. You grinned like a Cheshire cat. "Mhm?"
"Yeah," he looked to the side and blushed a little, causing you to want to tease him. He was so adorable like this.
"Is it okay for a Prince to skip events?" you asked, batting your eyelashes up at him innocently.
"Maybe. What're ya suggesting?" he has you backed in a corner, one of his hands on the wall, at the side of your head and he was leaning in very close to you. Too close.
You could smell his cinnamon perfume and was that vanilla too? Or maybe you were just imagining it.
But a surge of confidence appeared out of nowhere, and before you knew it, you had grabbed his hand and darted off to a secluded place in the palace, away from the nobles and dignitaries, away from the guards and maids. You took him somewhere nobody would bother you, somewhere you had wanted to visit since you entered the castle. He'd never admit it, but that would turn out to be his favorite place.
The library.
You learned a lot that night. Katsuki was surprisingly easy to talk to. He told you about his past, his extremely feisty behavior, how he changed, and Japan's greatest war. You realized that's how he got his scar. He thought of himself as a monster. You placed a reassuring hand on his face and opened up to him, sharing your deepest secret.
He seemed astounded. You had faced so much, and yet here you were, comforting him. Your past seemed complicated, and he sort of wished he wasn't a prince. He hoped he could've been a commoner, like you, and grown up with you.
The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, gently waking you from a deep sleep. Ugh, was it morning already? You only closed your eyes for like... two minutes? You stretched languidly, a soft smile tugging at your lips as memories of the previous night with Katsuki flooded back. Your heart felt lighter than it had in a long time and your face heated up with a warm hue.
Just as you were about to get out of bed, the door burst open, and Mina barged in with her usual spirit. "Good morning, sleepyhead!" she sang, practically bouncing into the room. "Up and at 'em! We've got a busy day ahead!"
You groaned playfully, sitting up and rubbing your eyes. "Mina, it's too early for this kind of energy."
"Too early? It's never too early for exciting news!" she said, wiggling her eyebrows mischievously. She plopped down on the edge of your bed, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, spill! What's going on between you and Prince Bakugo? You two are the talk of the town!"
You blinked, feeling a blend of embarrassment and nervousness. "The talk of the town? Really?"
"Yes, really!" Mina exclaimed, grabbing a hairbrush from your vanity and starting to brush your hair. "Everyone's talking about how you two disappeared from the event last night and weren't seen again until the wee hours of the morning. People are saying all sorts of things!"
You couldn't help but stare in bewilderment.
"I promise, it's not what they think!"

Be with Me
From: MHA Male Masterlist Part One: Fairytale Pairing: Shoto x Reader Summary: You actually get your fairytale after all Warnings: None
Everything felt like a dream to you. He has been giving you kisses whenever you thought about it and sometimes just talk about something random with him.
“I wish this could last forever.” You smiled at him.
“It won’t last.”
“What?”
“I am not real and you know this.”
“You are real.”
“No, I am not you just need to wake up.”
Everything disappeared around you. You felt as if you were falling. And there were pictures around you of everything that happened between you two. The thoughts. The memories. And then you heard a beep. And that's when you woke up to find yourself in the hospital but no Shoto. Then you saw someone walk inside your room.
It was the doctor.
"Hello. I see you have woken up from your coma."
Coma? How long have you been out?
"And I see your boyfriend is still here with you." He pointed towards the other side of you. You looked over to see Shoto sleeping right beside you. "He really cares about you and he has been coming every day to come check on you. I will have the nurses come in and check on your vitals to make sure everything is okay." He walked out the door and you turned beside him. You didn't want to wake up Shoto. You look down at your arms to see things hooked up toward you. You still don't know how long you have been out.
"My love?" You looked at him in his eyes. It was filled with stars. He hugged you carefully and kissed you all around your face. "I thought I lost you. Don't you ever think about leaving me ever."
"I would never plan on it." He kissed you all over your face. "How long have I been out?"
"Like almost a year. I have been waiting for you. I prepared everything for when you woke up. I just felt like today that you were going to be awake."
You still kept thinking about the life you had in your coma. The life that is happening right now with him. But the only difference is that you are royalty in that reality. You didn't care as long as you had your Shoto everything was okay.
The nurses came inside to check on you and make sure that you are okay. Shoto was right there beside you holding your hand throughout the way.
It is like the reality you had in your coma was here. Your prince is here with you. The dream you had was most likely you in your past life with him. You noticed everything was slowing down. The mouths of the nurses were moving slowly. You felt as if you could get up. You got off of your bed while bringing the medical item with you that was still having needles stuck inside of your arm. The floor was glittering and guided you outside of your room.
But the outside looked like the ballroom. You saw Shoto standing right there. "I see you have woken up my love." He got closer to you. "I had a fun time with you during the time when you were in your coma. And now you are in the reality you are intended to be. Don't forget about me when you are still in this reality." He kissed your hand.
He disappeared and now you were back in your bed with the ladies talking. "So everything looks fine. Your lover is good to go. We would keep her for one more day just to make sure everything is okay." Todoroki just nodded. "If you need us don't be afraid to press the button." They waved goodbye and left the room.
"So what did you think about when you were in your coma?"
"I was thinking about us. But we were royalty." He smiled at you but didn't say anything to you. He kissed your forehead.
"I really think you are maybe on to something." He was going to say something else but stopped himself. "Are you hungry?" You nodded. "I will go get you something to eat." He walked out of the room.
Even when he walked out you were a bit suspicious of him. What was he trying to say to you? Maybe it was nothing. But all you know is your happily ever after is right here with you. And that happily ever after is anywhere that Shoto is.

Fatasy-AU: Prince Shoto gets kidnapped by a dragon and brought to it's castle in the mountains. But the dragon is actually a human who just has the ability to shape-shift into a dragon. He is also Shoto's boyfriend. Queen Rei is more irritated than scared for her son, as is everyone else. The big question everyone asks is "Why can't you meet for a day normally?!" The answer: "We are a prince and a shapeshifter. We are not normal."
"We're not normal."
Masterlist
Anime: Mha/ My Hero Academia
Charatcer(s): Shoto Todoroki
Time set point: they're 16
Pronouns used: he/him
Warnings: violence, kidnapping(?)
A/n: don't mind the little thing with Kiri n Bakugou, it's just a thing for ✨lore✨
"Not again.." Rei sighed and stared out the window, watching as a big dragon flew off into the distance, holding her youngest son.
She knew she'd have to, once again, explain to her husband about what their son was up to. He'd of course as always throw a fit and yell about to the servants of how Shoto was so immature for his age.
Everyone else besides the royal family, with the exception of Fuyumi, in the whole kingdom were scared for the young prince. He was getting kidnapped by this dragon! Why wasn't there a party going out to slay the dragon and rescue the prince?
It was because the prince would do this quite often when he wasn't able to sneak out to meet with y/n. It was technically kidnapping, but not at the same time. Y/n just knew that as Shoto being the youngest, he didn't have as much responsibility as his older siblings. Well of course with the exception of expectations his father puts on him.
That being said, y/n just saw that since Shoto seemingly didn't have huge responsibilities like his older family, that he could just steal him away for a bit every few days. And that's exactly what he did.
"Uh! I hate your stupid fucking family!" Y/n hissed, transforming into his humanoid form. His tail swayed behind him, having a sour expression.
Todoroki sighed and embraced him, happy to be out of his castle and now in y/n's secluded one only dragon kin could easily venture out and find.
"I know you do. They're unreasonable." Shoto agreed. He guided y/n to the balcony and jumped up on the thick brick ledge. He patted next to him and smiled.
Y/n exhaled and slowly climbed up, his wings stretching behind him. He dangled his legs and looked down beneath him, at the tall pine trees that were still too tiny to reach the balcony.
"Especially that stupid dad of yours. How do you put up with him?" Y/n clenched his fists, biting into his lip. He hated the king so very much, so much to the point that he'd happily kill him. Even for free!
So many people could benefit from a new king. Hell, Shoto would be an amazing king! Y/n thought about that everyday. But he was too in his thoughts and in the back of his mind, something told him that if Shoto stayed back with his family, then he'd get taken away.
Usually in royal families that have more than one child, the youngest ones get sent off to marry another king or queen or ruler. Y/n was terrified of the thought. He didn't want Shoto to leave him, like everyone else did. Like his family and clan did.
Shoto chuckled, staring off at the sunset. "I ignore him the best of my abilities. I know you don't like him, I don't either."
Y/n hummed, bringing his knee up to his chest. He had a sad look in his eye, remembering the first time he'd actually met the king, and all the events that played after.
"And what is this? Shoto, you choose a filthy looking commoner? I thought I told you I have other royals picked out?" Enji glared down at his son, watching as he just stared ahead of him. Presumably at y/n.
"You sneak out of this castle too much! You're a prince! Where's your manners? Common sense? People out there are out to kill royals like you! How do you know this rat here won't??" Enji continued, getting louder and louder by the word.
Shoto clenched his fists and closed his eyes. "Do not call him a rat, father." He said through gritted teeth, so close to fighting him right then and there.
Guards in the room watched, all completely and utterly stunned. The young prince never talked back to the king, always known to keep his mouth shut and keep quiet.
"I will call it whatever I damn please. Now, you. What do you think you're doing talking to my son? Filthy dragon." He turned his attention to y/n, stepping closer.
Y/n narrowed his eyes, moving his arms in the thick chains on his arms and legs. He snarled and bared his fangs as the king approached, wiggling more in the chains.
"I said speak vermin!" Enji brung up his foot and harshly pressed it down on y/n's back and wings.
He immediately screamed out in pain, whipping his head around to try and bite Enji. The king only scoffed at the poor attempt and kicked him right in the face, watching as y/n fell limp against the concrete floor.
Shoto stared wide eyed, beginning to run towards y/n, but got held back by guards. He tried shoving them away as he desperately called out to y/n, seeing them begin to bleed from the nose and mouth.
"Take it to the chambers. We can show those dragons how weak their kind really are." Enji ordered the guards, as the began unclasping the chains from the floor and from y/n, not knowing y/n hadn't been unconscious.
In mere seconds of y/n being uncuffed, his eyes shot open, pupils thin, as he jumped up and ran out to a window, breaking the glass and jumping through. Mid air he transformed into a full dragon and flew off back home, slowly of course because of a torn wing.
He could hear faint yelling of the king from the castle, and saw flames when he glanced back. Enji must've gotten too mad.
Y/n scoffed to himself and continued his way back home, ready to just relax in the health unit and get treatment.
"Oh? Y/n hey! Wait dude- the fuck happen??" Kirishima worriedly ran to y/n's side before he collapsed, holding him. Y/n looked tired and dazed, tried blood, wounds, and tattered clothes covered his body.
"Here I'll get you to the health unit and- hm? Bakugou?" Kirishima stopped in place, still holding onto y/n as he looked at the blonde that stood infront of him with narrowed eyes.
"What the fuck happened?" Katuski asked immediately, staring at all the damage done to y/n. In his mind, he saw it as nothing but disgraceful. Like y/n wasn't representing dragon kin correctly.
Kirishima adjusted his grip and huffed. "I don't know! Y/n here came staggering into here and he looked about dead! He need to get medical." Katsuki was reluctant but followed behind them all the way to the health unit.
Y/n blinked, glancing up to see Kirishima with a worried but determined face. As well as catching a glimpse of unkept spiky blonde hair as well as a pair of piercing crimson eyed. Then, he fell unconscious.
"Then I woke up, everyone gone. Without a trace. The whole castle and buildings abandoned. And they all left me." Y/n stared down at his lap, holding back his tears he'd repressed for so long. He'd never told anyone about this, not even Shoto.
Because y/n never brung Shoto to the dragons home in fear of them hurting him, so he'd meet up with him in town or out in the woods at night. But now, months after the dragons relocating, y/n was able to bring Shoto to his castle.
Shoto stared, almost dumbfounded by this sudden explanation as to why the kingdom wouldn't see dragons flying far away. It'd been months since any other dragon other that y/n was spotted, and it finally made sense to the prince why.
"My dear, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I-I'm at such a loss for words.." Shoto reached out, grabbing y/n's hand and gently caressing it with his thumb.
Y/n wiped his face and shook his head, smiling. "No no it's fine. I'm a shapeshifter, of course the worlds gonna hate me."
Y/n stood up, looking out at the distance. His pupils were dilated as he got the overwhelming urge to fly up and free fall, catching himself at the last moment.
"Would you like to go in town and check out the vendors? I always like buying things and tipping to help the businesses" Shoto smiled.
Truth be told, Shoto was probably the only Todoroki that went and helped out the commoners. He was greatly liked amongst them, seeing as he was completely different from the king, which the commoners hated with a passion.
"I suppose..let me get my closk." Y/n jumped off the balcony, going into the castle to retrieve his long black cloak that he wore when in human form and would hide his horns, wings, and tail.
Shoto waited for y/n to come, standing on the balcony edge and staring off at the sky. From his view back home, he would usually only be able to look at the sky through an old dirty window. A window that couldn't even open because it was melted shut.
Y/n came back and reached for Shoto's satchel, putting his cloak in and closing it. He gave a nod and shifted into his dragon form, letting Shoto climb on his back before setting off on the direction of the commoner town.
Only about half an hour later, y/n landed in a small clearing surrounded by a thicket of woods. Y/n quickly transformed back to his human form and put on his cloak. It completely covered the top of his head, almost blocking his vision from the hood. The rest of it draped down to the ground, leaving enough space for y/n to fold his wings up to his back and curl his tail around his leg.
"Take my hand?" Shoto offered his hand, smiling politely. Y/n smiled back and took his hand. They began through the far-too-familiar trail they took often, soon emerging just outside the path that leads into the village.
Y/n glanced up, seeing kids running around and laughing. One glanced over at where the couple began making their way into the town. He immediately ran off to his mother and pulled on her skirt, pointing over at them and smiling widely.
"Mommy mommy!! It's the prince!" He squealed. His mother looked away from the group she talked to, seeing the prince and quickly bowed. She glanced at her son, gently hitting his head and making him bow.
"Prince Shoto! Good to see you!" A local bread vendor walked up, completely ignoring y/n and bowing respectfully. Shoto smiled and dipped his head.
"Nice to see you as well, business well?" The vendor asked, glancing at y/n.
Y/n pulled down his hood more, gulping nervously. He knew how the humans thought of dragon kin. They all thought they were disgusting vile creatures that wanted to control and rule the world.
"Ah yes! A lot of travelers are comin' by and they love the fresh bread!"
The two continued their conversation, Shoto soon giving the vendor money to buy a loaf of fresh bread. He planned on going out to an alley that he knew a young kid lived in with strays.
Y/n stayed behind Shoto the whole time, listening to the people talk to him about what's been happening around, informing him of less trace of dragons.
It made y/n sick. It was because they were all happy that the dragon clan that lived not far away, were never seen in months. Only one dragon that never got near.
"Yeah! The dragon never messes with us, probably a weak stray. We're thinking of going to find it and kill it. We could have a dragon feast!" A man cheered, earning approval from people around.
Shoto sighed. It felt like he was the only human who had sympathy for shapeshifters. Maybe it was because most people thought dragons were just big creatures. When they were simply humans that were able to transform to big "scary" creatures.
"If the dragon doesn't mess with you all, then why not just leave it alone? Its friendly, correct?" Todoroki glanced at the man who previously spoke, now staring at him. He scoffed and grumbled, walking off.
Y/n held a hand over his mouth, laughing into it as quietly as he could. People caught on. Including the man.
"You! Do you think this is funny??" He stomped up to y/n, jabbing his finger at his stomach. Y/n shut up immediately, eyes narrowed at the mans hand.
"Do not touch me." He growled out. The man laughed and instead of jabbing him, pushed y/n down to the ground.
He roughly landed on the ground with a loud thud, his cloak falling down onto his shoulders as he snarled.
People gasped, and pointed. Some immediately pulled their children close. Shoto quickly bent down next to y/n, glaring up at the man with his hand on his dagger that rested in a pocket on his belt.
"It's one of those shapeshifters!!" A woman shrieked, causing a huge riot that caused women and children to run off. Some men drew their weapons and yelled for the prince to get back.
"You all are so judgmental!" Y/n stumbled up, throwing his cloak to the ground as he cared his teeth.
His wings flared behind him, tail whipping behind him. His pupils dilated as anger fueled in him.
He looked over at Shoto and gave a sad look. "Get back to the castle. I'll come at midnight."
Shoto sighed and nodded, grabbing y/n's discarded cloak and took steps back. He watched as y/n transformed into his dragon form, snarling at the town before flying off back to his castle.
The prince glared at the people, brushing past them and taking the main path up to his families castle.
Everyone in the castle was asleep, besides a few maids and butlers and of course, the youngest prince.
Shoto leaned against the window frame, seeing the faint flying figure draw closer and closer to him. He stood up and waited to get picked up.
Soon y/n arrived, transforming and immediately embracing Shoto in a long waited hug. Y/n huffed out as he took in the princes scent, smelling the smell of something sweet. He probably had cake for desert.
"And where are you going?"
The two quickly looked into the room to see Queen Rei standing in the doorframe with a pissed expression.
Y/n bowed respectfully. She and Shoto were the only two in the family y/n respected.
"We are going out, I promise I'll be back by sunrise mother." Shoto spoke. He watched for his mother's expression. She sighed and waved them off.
"Why can't you meet for a day normally?" Rei narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms. Shoto and y/n looked at each other and smiled. Y/n giggled and wrapped his tail around Shoto.
"We are a prince and shapeshifter. We are not normal."

Happy birthday! Would you do a birthday scenario where Todoroki Shoto accidentally ruins the surprise of the surprise party class 1A is throwing for his girlfriend?
Did I do something wrong?
✎ Todoroki x Reader
✎ It was a surprise when you realized Shoto had slipped out that he really shouldn’t, but you couldn’t help but giggle at the sight
✎ Tags: fluff, platonic class 1-A, f! reader
: ̗̀➛ Manger’s/Author’s note: He would do this- like there's no excuse, he would and will! But that's just what makes him so adorable. And thank you Anon, your request is much appreciated <33
"Todoroki kun!" Shoto rolled his head back, a familiar freckled face catching his attention. "Midoriya?" A smile tugged upon the green haired boy's lips, his fingers fiddling with one another. "Could you do us a little favor?" Eyes blinking in curiosity, a slow nod making Izuku beam in delight, face drawing in closer to the male's ear.
"Todo, well, aren't you early, haha~" You giggled, dusting your overalls as you strolled towards the stoic boy. Shoto nodded, pink flushing his pale features as he stared longer than he should. "Hello, snowflake, shall we?" He coughed. You, without a second thought, laced your fingers with his, gently dragging him towards your direction.
"So I heard you had a plan, what are we gonna do, my prince?" Shoto hummed, hand reaching for his device, pulling up his notes for the day. "Well, we can walk around for a while, maybe purchase some items while we're at it, have a bite to eat and move back to the dorm for your surprise party."
"Wait- what?" Shoto paused, irises darted towards yours, confusion held on his face when noticing the twitching of your lips. Before he knew, you were laughing your ass off, stomach hurting at the pressure from your lungs. "Did I say something wrong?" You flashed a scrunched up face, your snickering grin never leaving your face. "Nothing dearest!"
"Sero kun!" The ravennette smirk, elbow aiming at the folded areas before blasting a gust of wind along side strips of tape. "I got 'cha!" Uraraka smiled back, releasing the banner of her quirk before moving on with the other decorations, finger tips trailing the streamers and cutouts, glowing pink spreading like wildfire.
"Bakugo kun, are the side dishes—" the chopping of the knife quickened yet the roughness of the blade work still made precise slices of vegetables and meat alike. "THEY'RE ALREADY ON THE TABLE PONYTAIL! NOW HURRY UP WITH THE TEA!?" Momo huffed out a sigh, turning her attention back to the boiling kettle along with Sato alongside Hagakure with the cased cake batter.
Knock knock knock
"Must be Midoriya with the materials for the games!" Kaminari shuffled over to the entrance, hand already hooked on the handle, swiftly pulling the door before slamming it back in its place. "Er- gUYS! Theee birthday girl is- I don't know- AT THE DOOR?!" Silence flooded the room, screams of chaos reflecting outward after moments of realization. Only with the creaking of the door did they manage to calm down a little, keeping their continuing howls inward.
"Jigs up guys, little Shoto over here told me everything~" You snickered, fingers trailing over to the Todoroki's waist, pulling him closer into your embrace. His face flushed softly, head lowered a bit as he mumbled incoherently as you placed light kisses on his burning cheeks.
"Sorry, was I not suppose to?"
"DAMN IT, ICY HOT! NOW YOU RUINED THE FUCKING SURPRISE- I WASTED MY TIME FOR NOTHING!?" Bakugo threw a fit, knife immediately stabbing the wooden board with a loud thump! [Poor chopping board :,)]
"Bakugo, language please!" Iida waved at him as a certain red head reached over and patted the explosive male on the back. "There there, bakubro, Todoroki's too blunt for his own good!"
"Sorry Bakugo, even if you ask me to lie, I could never, it's just doesn't sit well with me.."
"Don't be sorry love~ I really couldn't care less if it's a surprise or not, as long as I get to spend time with my friends on my birthday, I'm happy regardless!"
"Babeeee!" Mina yelled, pinkish arms slithering around your waist, pulling you into her chest as her chin nested at the top of your head, snuggling herself closer into you.
"Sigh.. well since you are here early, why don't we just prepare the party together?"
"Sure~ come on everyone!"
"YEAH!"

Planned Works/Ideas for October
Hello everyone, as I mentioned previously I’ve been working on some stuff. I also have been feeling very inspired as of late and will be writing some more. I wanted to get this October started off right so here is a list of some things that will be coming your way hopefully sooner than later. I don't feel comfortable giving exact dates because as I've mentioned before certain factors can cause my writing schedule to be sporadic (also why I will not be participating in kinktober) Since some ideas are more developed than others his list will be separated into three categories:
Full ideas
People/characters who will be getting works
Ideas/tropes that I want to write about
Let's Begin!
First up here are the fully developed ideas that are in progress.
Yoon Hyunsuk (Cix)
Nerd!Hyunsuk x Popular!reader (college au)
The tall, shy, handsome, boy who sits behind you in every class you share has a secret. Like many other people on campus, he was hopelessly in love with you. It began three years ago, freshman year, and every day it only got stronger. Over the years this has led him to do some… questionable things he's not a bad guy by any means he's just an awkward college boy in love. At first, it was innocent just sitting behind you in classes that you shared. He hoped that this would give him some time to gain some confidence to talk to you while still remaining close to you. He really didn’t mean to begin eavesdropping on your conversations or reading your texts over your shoulder, he just wanted to learn more about you before he approached you. But as time went on the worse he got from smelling your hair to following you around campus to lurking your socials to finally finding your dorm room. He told himself that he was just trying to return a jacket you left in class so he racked his brain for all of the information he “gathered” and remembered your room number. It was just supposed to be a quick drop off of the jacket he played out the scenario in his head a thousand times. knock on the door, tell you he picked it up when you forgot it, give it to you, and leave. But, when he knocked on the door it opened slightly you weren’t there but you left it cracked indicating that you would be back soon. The change in circumstances caused him to panic and so he decided to just go in and drop it on your bed as opposed to waiting at your door for you. As soon as he fully entered the room the door closed behind him and after folding your jacket placing it on your bed he goes to leave. Turns out you left your door cracked for a reason, he twists the knob and pulls with all his might but he can’t get it opened. The door jammed and he’s stuck in your room. Before he even gets the chance to panic he hears you right outside the door.

Klaus Mikaelson (TVD/The Originals)
Cursed!KlausxSoulmate!Reader
Klaus kills a woman. Unbeknownst to him, this woman was the soulmate of a powerful witch. In revenge the witch curses him vowing that the day Klaus finds his soulmate they will be made immortal but their soul would be removed leaving an eternal one-sided soulmate connection where Klaus is completely connected to them ( can only love and desire them, unable to hurt or kill them, able to see their thoughts and feel their emotions/pain.etc) but they have no connection to him. The witch finally takes the only reverse to the spell to the grave with him and his wife leaving nobody else to break the spell. The story will center around an interesting toxic yet slightly romantic relationship between Klaus and the reader where over years they are continuously on and off again. Klaus does everything to get the reader to love and stay with him and the reader uses this to their advantage. When they’re together its great but when they’re apart things never go well. In the end, the reader can always leave him but he can never leave them so he takes any measure to keep them by his side.

The Cat Owns You Part 2
After returning home from the café Soobin you’re finally able to transform. Now being human you keep up a nice façade for the evening eating dinner and watching television peacefully. Having you around for these few hours has him believing he made the right decision after a while he took you to your room before retiring to his own for the night. He drifts off to sleep happily thinking that he found a simple way to fix his loneliness issue a cute catgirl who resides in the room beside his. Nothing could have prepared him for what would happen a few hours later. Waking up to feel his hands and legs in an uncomfortable position he tries to adjust himself but he can’t, opening his eyes to look he realizes that he’s tied to the 4 sides of his bedpost. Before he can question what’s happening he sees you making your way toward him with the collar he purchased earlier in your hands. You notice that he’s awake but continue on fastening the collar around his throat before positioning yourself to sit on him, straddling his spread body “(Y/N) what’s going on” he asks trying to sound stern but it comes out as more of a whisper as the reality of his situation really begins to set in affecting his body in a way he didn’t expect. “Shhh don’t worry I’ll take care of you” you whisper in his ear sending a shiver through his body. Every second that passes he can feel his resolve fading he knows that he wants whatever is about to happen and soon he won’t be able to say no you know this too. He quickly yet unconvincingly rushes out “ no you can’t do this” causing you to chuckle “ Yes I can, I can do whatever I want you signed the papers” before he can ask what you mean you continue “I own you”

Boring Meetings - royal!Natsuo x royal!Reader
Prompt: A’s and B’s kingdoms often have meetings to discuss negotiations. As the kings and queens work out all the official stuff, A and B just sit there, bored out of their minds. They bond over how awful these frequent meetings are, and find creative ways to make the meetings more interesting.
Prompt by deity-prompts.
•••
Your parents and king Todoroki have been allies for years. It had become a sort of tradition to travel over to the Todoroki palace for them catch up or discuss rising issues in their kingdoms. You would always skip out, opting to walk around the palace grounds until someone came to fetch you.
Today was another of those meeting days. While your parents and Enji talked in the drawing room, you walked along one of the corridors in the palace, glancing out of the tall windows lining the area. You paused and stood closer to the window upon seeing two of the Todoroki children in the garden, Fuyumi seemingly educating Shoto on the different flowers.
The sound of someone walking in your direction broke your eyes away from the window, E/C eyes meeting gray ones.
Natsuo.
The prince walked up to the window you still stood in front of before asking, “Our parents are in a meeting again, aren’t they?”
You nodded before returning your gaze to the other Todoroki children. Natsuo sighed and followed your actions.
“They seem to be having fun. Yet here I am, having to stay inside because Touya leaving made me the heir. Damn male preference.” He griped, hand unconsciously grasping onto your forearm. “They never end up needing me, so why do I have to stay close to that man just because of our titles?”
You looked up to see his expression. He looked outside almost longingly, brows furrowed to show his deep anger towards his father. Your free arm crossed to rest your hand on top of the grasp Natsuo still had on you, thumb gently rubbing his cold hand.
“What if we went outside with your siblings and we just tell our parents you were showing me around? We could say that we ran into Fuyumi and Shoto along the way.” You reasoned.
Natsuo let a small smile grace his face.
“I’d like that.”

On your knees, King! (Part 3)
Bakugou x reader, Todoroki x reader
Fantasy AU
!Warnings!: Swearing, betrayal, lil dash of angst, shitty writing, abuse, physical harm
Synopsis:
Bakugou is the esteemed King of the Kingdom of Barbarians and because he succeeded in ruling the lands that were once governed by the Yuuei Kingdom, an offering must be made for the peace of the people. As the so-called ‘black sheep’ of the royal family, the King of Yuuei a.k.a. your father, offered you–naming you the most precious thing he could give; but you know the truth behind his words.
PART III
← Part 2 Part 4 →
Things started to get hectic in both the Yuuei and Barbarian kingdoms for only a few weeks were left until the wedding. Seeing the decorations being put up only meant a reminder for both Shoto and (Y/n) that it was real, it was happening-- but it was happening too fast for them to comprehend.
The princess was in a daze during her meal time with the only family she had left, her father. Ever since her mother passed away, things turned into hell. Before fully agreeing to give their daughter away, the queen stood her ground in protest and resisted the King’s order.
Blinded by rage, he threatened his wife with a sword but still, her gaze was firm and decision never wavered. The last string of patience the king had snapped and he swung his sword towards the woman, slicing her deep from the chest to her abdomen.
In his state of shock, he stood there, hands shaking. His lover was no more and all because of the stupid Barbaric king, all because of his useless daughter, he lost more then just his kingdom. He had lost his wife.
It took a long while for the king to come to terms with the thought of his diseased lover but he channeled all his pain into making another’s life miserable.
Out of everyone, he had to choose his poor daughter, who he had blamed for everything.
“(Y/n)! I expect you to be on your best behavior and for once not be a failure to this family. Am I clear?” A tired nod was all she could answer. The king quietly stood up from his seat and hastily made it to (Y/n)’s side. A loud smack resounded in the room.
“I am a king here and I expect you to treat me like one, you useless bitch! When I ask you a question, answer me properly!” This was the king nobody from outside knew about. Only the people inside the palace knew about the true nature of this ‘kind’ king.
“Yes, your majesty. I have made a mistake.” The old man just scoffed and retreated to his room, leaving his daughter alone to dine. Because she is the Princess of the commoners, people from the palace were often enraged to see her being treated poorly by the only real family she had.
With no words being said, a cloth with cool water was handed to her by one of her most trusted maids, Ochako. “Milady, it is to avoid swelling.” (Y/n) gratefully took it and dabbed it over the reddening spot on her cheek.
“Now that my father is away and in his quarters, won’t you maids join me for my meal? Let’s leave some for the guards standing in the doorway as well.” This occurrence happened frequently. They knew it was no bribe from the princess, but pure genuine kindness. She was a far better ruler than her damn father.
“But ma’am...” the princess slouched in her seat to get comfortable “Oh come on, we’ve been doing this for quite some time now! I don’t wanna eat alone” she unleashed her puppy eyes and the maids couldn’t refuse any longer.
Her hand maid ushered the rest of the servants in the room to take their seats and they joyfully shared stories over the table. See, (Y/n) was really interested in the commoner life not to compare to her own, but to get to know the ways of her people.
This is why even if the king treats her badly, the servants in the palace would never turn against her and if they had to take sides, they would all go to princess’ aide.
“Milady, how are things with your fiancé?” the bold maid named Mina asked. “M-Mina?! You can’t just ask things like that!” The head maid Momo scolded. “No it’s okay Momo, guys you’re my friends just drop the Milady shit and call me (Y/n)”
Mina gave a victory smile to Momo and the the latter just sighed. “I haven’t met him yet in all honesty, but I think we’re going to their castle in a few days, or maybe tomorrow. I didn’t really listen to what that stupid old fart told me”
They held their laughter at the nickname the king’s daughter had for him. “I hope even if he is one of those Barbaric bastards, he treats you fairly” Ochako had a sad smile on her face. The princess already had enough of her father’s torturing so having a bad husband would only continue her hell.
“In all honesty, I thought you would be wed to Prince Shoto. You were such a good match! I’m sure you would be happy with him” “Yes, Jiro that was the plan but it seems that fate had decided to push us apart. I’m sure I would have been happy but I’m not closing my doors to the thought of the new King as a husband. Maybe he can entertain me.”
“You can hunt together or maybe go on horse rides to lakes to watch the sunset!” (Y/n) knew this was too good to be true. Her soon to be husband was a brute, it would be weird if he was indeed that romantic. “Hah. I doubt he even has a romantic bone in his body. Anyway, I’ll be leaving first, girls. Ochako would you be a dear and please prepare my bath after you’re done eating. Do not worry, you can take your time and rest. Goodnight to all of you.”
“Sure thing princess!” “May you rest well.” “Nighty, (Y/n)”!”
--
“Oi hag, what kind of woman is she anyway? If it’s just some pissy girl I’d rather decapitate her family.” The older blonde smacked hiS HEAD. “Watch that stupid mouth of your brat! I’m sure she’s the perfect match for you. When has your mother been wrong?” The former queen smirked.
“She better not be weak. I don’t want my reputation to plummet because of some woman. I’m leaving with Kirishima to go hunt!” “Bring me a fat boar while you’re at it!”
--
Kirishima flew freely in the skies with Bakugou sitting snug on his back. At the same time, (Y/n) went to the woods after eating to let off some steam. Every time she thinks about her stupid father, rage fills her head. Nothing was her fault so why was she treated so badly.
The special spot (Y/n) and the friend who gave her necklace was her safe place. It was also the best spot to hunt boars, pigeons and if you’re lucky, deers.
She brought a bow and a sword with her and began to position herself to be hidden from her preys. Her sharp gaze caught a healthy fat boar in sight and the same time her arrow hit, a blade fell from the sky.
“Who’s the fuck did this to my fucking boar?!” A big gust of wind blew and standing before her was a huge red dragon, scales as red and as shiny as rubies.
“That’s my boar fuckface! Look for your own!” A blonde muscular man hopped off the dragon’s back. The Princess had put her cloak on to seal her identify, the man had a hood on too but his muscles were out for the world to see.
“You deaf, boy?! If you weren’t flying so high, you could have seen that my arrow had already pierced it before your dull blade could. Hands off my catch!” The man pulled the sword out of the boar and pointed it at the princess.
“No way, it’s mine! If you want it, fight for it!” (Y/n) wasted no time as she unsheathed her own weapon from it’s scabbard and went in for an attack. The blonde was surprised at the sudden movement of the woman but blocked her sword nonetheless.
“You got spunk woman, but can you even handle my strength?” “Hah please, I can take you on any day, dandelion!” Their sparring took quite a while and Kirishima just sat at the back with a slight worried look on his face.
The girl took notice of the dragon’s structure and thought maybe it was hungry, but in fact Kirishima was just getting bored. When she managed to push her opponent back a little, she ran towards the boar and threw it at the dragon.
“Here boy, catch!” the smell of meat made Kirishima quickly respond and at the end of the duel, it was the red dragon who immersed victorious.
(Y/n) laughed at the face the man made when their loot was snagged by the dragon. “Oi Kirishima! Why’d you eat it?!” The dragon just huffed in response. The girl went close to the dragon to try to pet it and because of the treat given by her, Kirishima bent his head to get the pats he loved.
She then directed her attention to the male with a huge scowl on his face. Digging through her pouch, she handed him a loaf of bread and cheese. “Here, take it. I enjoyed our spar. I would have loved to ask for your name and to spar another time, but I think it’s impossible now.” she smiled sadly.
The blonde on the other hand only got curious “Why?” “I’m getting married soon. I can’t just hang around guys freely.” The sun was starting to set and people may have started to look for her in the palace.
“It’s time for me to go. If we see each other again, let’s exchange names, dandelion. I hope you can take me to the skies some time Kirishima! Have a safe journey home”
She didn’t wait for their response as she fled the scene quickly.

Burn Away With Me 3
Shoto Todoroki x reader / Dabi x reader
Warnings: Mentions of death and blood, profanity, kidnap, murder, Angst
Word count: 10K
Part 1 Part 2
Summary: Kidnap and murder usually go hand in hand but not like this. The world thinks your dead and you have to watch them mourn you like a princess locked away in a tower. Except princes don’t look for dead girls. You might just have to rely on the villain who took you.
Comment: Holy Shit, I am so sorry this took so long and that I haven’t been posting anything new. School just started again and I am a full time student and employee. I have a few other fics in progress and there will be a part four to this fic, which will be the conclusion. Thank you all for sticking around still and just bear with me. This chapter is long and I hope there aren’t to many errors with grammar or spelling. I hope you enjoy and please look forward to my next fics which I hope to post this week.
------------------------------------------
Endeavor was a clever man with years of getting what he wanted tucked under his belt. He wasn’t intimidated by his son. He thought of his son as a tool not a human being with feelings and emotions that mattered. He had tried to be that guy and failed. His wife wanted nothing to do with him and neither did his oldest son. He showed them that he could change and yet they didn’t forgive him so what was the point of changing. He reverted back to the piece of shit he was so good at being. If he couldn’t be Number 1 and a ‘good’ dad then fine. A hero it is, despite the fact that he wasn’t a good hero either. Just a narcissistic asshole who beats people down with no remorse and would do anything to get what he wanted. Even kill you, even kill his own son. You and Dabi had ‘murdered by Endeavor’ on your personal resumes.
Now Shoto was standing his ground against the man who continues to take the things he loves. His flames dance around his body waiting to be released like hell hounds against his father. The ice cracks when Endeavor lifts his foot. He seems amused, like this is all a game. He wants Shoto to fall apart because it’s easier to control him when he isn’t all there. Shoto won’t let that happen, not when he needed to get revenge, if not for you then himself.
“TALK YOU BASTARD!” Shoto Todoroki was anything but a loud man. He wasn’t overly confrontational so this was a big change in his personality. Endeavor quirked a brow before his booming laugh pushed against the walls of his office. He steps forward knowing that his son will respond defensively. Ice shards jut forward almost striking the flame bearded man. He laughs before grabbing the overgrown frozen stalagmites melting them in seconds. His ice was strong but fire was still fire and couldn’t be overcome by a chill. His own fire pushed against Shoto’s as he approached. Shoto stood his ground, his hair had risen slightly dancing with his flames that were now reflecting in his eyes. His father glowers down at him neither of them willing to end this in a civil manner.
“I didn’t kill her but I am glad she is gone. You will mourn and hurt for now but in time she will be nothing but a painful memory. You can’t waste your time chasing rumors, trying to kill me. If you believe ever rumor out there then you would have to believe that you killed her or that she is actually alive. See how foolish those ideas are. You are just ruining your youth and if you kill me then you will spend the rest of your life behind bars. Would it be worth it Shoto?” He knows what to say to hurt his son. How could he forget about you? He couldn’t forget even if you wanted too. You were the better half of his life. You weren’t sunshine on a stormy day; no, you took him out in the rain and made him dance with you in it. He learned to love and be loved when you came into his life. Walking away now, giving up, was not a choice. He didn’t care about prison bars or the death sentence.
“Killing you, regardless of circumstance, would be worth everything.” The flames burned against each other as Shoto lifted his hand toward his fathers’ face. The flames disappeared at the sound of knocking on the door. Both men, despite having stopped their quirks, still looked at each other with intention to kill. “Come it.”
Midoriya opened the office door flinching slightly due to how hot the knob was. He walked into the room feeling the drastic change in temperature. The hallway was cool but the closer he got to Endeavors office the warmer it was. This however was extreme; he could feel the air stick to him from the increased humidity. He gripped his shirt pulling it in and outward trying to get a cool breeze. Shoto never looked away from his father even when he heard Midoriya clear his throat.
“Um, what’s going on in here.” The green haired boy lifted his foot, his shoes were damp from the puddles accumulating from Shoto’s ice. The walls had a heavy amount of condensation and it seemed like there were char marks on the flooring and parts of the ceiling. Midoriya knew whatever answer he was about to receive it wasn’t going to be the truth. “Pro Hero Deku, you have stumbled across a misunderstanding. My son is just emotional over his girlfriend’s de-”
“Fiancé. She wasn’t just my girlfriend, we were engaged. I was going to marry her and that’s not going to happen because you ki-”
“Because she was murdered by someone whose still out there. You should be hunting that person down instead of harassing me. Deku, if you wouldn’t mind this is over and I have other things to attend to.” Shoto was seething with hatred that scared even Midoriya who never got to see the boy like this. Endeavor turned away from the boys knowing that Shoto wouldn’t attack with Midoriya there. Shoto clenched his fist before turning and storming out of the room. He didn’t blame Midoriya for this interruption but he was upset by it. The rushed footsteps of Midoriya could be heard chasing down the revenge obsessed male.
“What the heck was that?” Midoriya had been trying to get ahold of Shoto, not for business but as a friend. He knew that Shoto was taking your death hard and everyone was worried about his reclusive distant behavior. Hell, even Bakugou was ‘worried’ about your fiancé. “Don’t worry about it, it doesn’t involve you.”
Shoto doesn’t get to take another step as Midoriya grabs him yanking his shoulder around to face him. Midoriya stared at Shoto with a look that he had seen to many times in his life. He had seen this concerned determined face all those years ago at the festival and has continued to see it every time something concerning happens that Shoto doesn’t cope well with.
“Don’t worry about it? How can I not worry when my best friend isn’t answering anyone’s calls? Doesn’t involve me! I don’t know what you were doing or talking about with your dad and maybe that doesn’t involve me but you’re my best friend.” Midoriya is breathing heavy from speaking with no break. He looks down after removing his hand from Shoto’s shoulder. His face goes from determined and concerned to downhearted. When his eyes meet Shoto’s again they both share a common emotion, hopelessness. “Also, this does involve me, I was her friend too. I care about her; everyone cares about her. We all miss her Todoroki! I know your suffering but you aren’t alone. You are isolating yourself and its not good for you. Please Shoto, talk to me.”
Shoto searches Midoriya’s eyes for any emotions other than loss and sorrow. He wants to walk away and pretend like this never happened. He thinks suffering alone is better than relying on the people around him. He hadn’t even been back to your shared home, nor had he returned to his childhood home. Instead he locked himself away in a hotel room surrounding himself with your things and any media that could drive him to kill his father. He watched videos and read articles about the disgusting man’s feats and failures. He waited for the perfect moment while clinging to your fading scent on the clothing you left behind. He was a truly broken man and even though he was a hero his intents match a certain cerulean eyed villain. There were a million things that lingered on Shoto’s tongue, words that would never get to be said. He wanted to talk, hell he wished he could have been like his classmates crying their hearts out while sharing in-depth stories but every time he picked up his phone to call or text, he saw the photo of you he had saved as his background. A picture of you smiling carefree while the sun casts rays of light that shimmer off your skin. Your hair is frozen in a windy mess behind you. Your eyes are staring at him with so much happiness and love that it hurts. It wasn’t taken on some special day or under certain circumstance, it was just a simple photo taken on a simple walk. You didn’t understand why he chose the photo yet he was overly fond of it. When the picture stared at him, he couldn’t call his friends. He just stared into your eyes wishing to see the real ones. He missed your loving gaze, he missed any look you had as long as it was toward him, even if it was anger. He wanted anything but this. Having to seek comfort in a photo was cause for heartache.
Shoto pulls his phone from his pocket, looking at the photo, before looking at Midoriya. The words still sit behind his lips, tingling, willing his to speak.
“I have nothing to say Midoriya.” Midoriya had waited with bated breath for Shoto to tell him something, anything. He could see it in his friend’s eyes, he knew there were many things that needed to be said. The response he was given punched him in the gut. He would have doubled over in pain if the punch wasn’t metaphorical. Midoriya wasn’t the type to let things go and as he watched Shoto turn around, his legs taking him god knows where. Midoriya ran after him, Shoto ignored the chase and left. He ignored the calls of his name as he exited the agency. He had to come up with a new plan. His hands found comfort in his pockets as he tried to blend in with the darkness. He heard his name echo as he turned the corner out of view. What was there to say now. If he told Midoriya what his plan was then he would try to stop him. Midoriya tried to follow but found himself in front of an alleyway of ice. He sighed pushing his hand against it. He imagined that this was the same ice that now lived in Todoroki’s heart. You were the fire that balanced it, but you were gone now.
“I wish you were here Y/n. You would know how to help him.” How ironic to need a dead person’s help when they were technically the cause of the problem. Even more ironic was while this occurred you were very much alive, asleep with your book still clutched in your hand blissfully unaware of Shoto’s unraveling mental state and morals.
--------------------------------------------
“Good morning doll.” Usually you’d snap at Dabi for his pet name but you had gotten used to it. By now you were more like roommates, he paid rent and shopped while you did everything else. You’d never admit to being used to this life but somehow another week had passed giving you no other choice. You followed every news cast and read every paper that came out hoping to read that Endeavor had died or been critically injured. It was cruel but necessary to survive and return to Shoto. Except the disappointment had to kick in after a week of nothing. No murder or injuring occurred. You started to think maybe Dabi didn’t have as strong a hold as he thought, worst case you thought Shoto didn’t care anymore. Maybe he had given up on you. A smack to your arm caught your attention as Dabi hit you before thrusting the newest paper toward you. You snatched it up faster than he could blink. He scoffed at your pathetic gesture. He had started hating watching your face fill with hope only to be disappointed by more hero news and never any good old fashion bad news. Your mood would drop and maybe a few tears would slip away. He wasn’t irritated with you, no he hated how you did this to yourself. He knew this wasn’t paradise and that playing dead was draining. He just wished that you could relax more. He had seen your smile and heard you laugh and those moments stayed with him. He watched you now waiting. You never cried, instead you crumpled the paper. You threw it on the ground before leaving the small kitchen table. You fled the room with what seemed like betrayal and anger. The bathroom door slammed shut. This was new, not the usual reaction, now he had to read the paper. It was crumpled and torn slightly in parts but he could read it, however there was really no reason to read it when the front cover was a large candid shot of pro hero Shoto smiling with his arm around some upstart, some young female sidekick. The picture must have hurt you but Dabi knew that it was faked. The smile never reached the heroes eyes. They were dead with you. The girl was all too happy to be getting a photo with Shoto. It was publicity, the media trying to make things interesting again. The article headline read Pro Hero Shoto Mending His Broken Heart With New Love Interest? Dabi actually laughed at how pathetic it was. He continued to read about this new girl and Shoto’s love for her. It mentioned her story about how she always looked up to Shoto, how he made her strive to work harder. Shoto couldn’t be bothered to comment. Dabi leaned back in his chair smirking. This was a part of someone’s plan, whether or not it was Endeavors pathetic attempt at changing the narrative or Shoto’s attempt at distracting the media while he goes after his true goal. Either way someone was pulling the strings with this little media shake up. Dabi chucked the paper onto the table not caring for its fake news. He knew what needed to be done and he didn’t like it.
A knock on the bathroom door brought you away from the storm of thoughts brewing. You had been under the, now cold, faucet for a while now. Two things were prominent in your thoughts, killing your fiancé or the girl who dared claim him. You weren’t stupid, you could put two and two together, they weren’t actually romantic interest. However, that didn’t stop you from imagining showing up at his agency with hells fury behind you. You could imagine the pure fear that people would have watching a dead girl attempt to kill her widow. If you didn’t go after him, you’d find this girl and make her regret the day she thought she could have him. You weren’t dead so watching him potentially move on made your blood boil. He got to live like a normal human while you were trapped. You were stuck enclosed in the same rooms till god knows when. You clenched your fist aware of the missing digit, another thing you lost because of this whole mess that shouldn’t have involved you. Another knock brought your attention to the door. The water stopped as your prune fingers turned the faucet off. You let your back fall against the cold tile before slipping to the tub. You refused to cry because he didn’t deserve your tears right now. No matter the truth, you were pissed at him. No tears or tight chest, just pure unadulterated anger. Dabi finally opened the door not caring if you’d yell at him. He went to pull the curtain aside but was stopped. Your fingers gripped it tightly to prevent it from moving. “What do you want Dabi.”
“I want you doll.” A scoff could be made out behind the curtain. You rolled your eyes but he only heard your sound. He leaned against the warm and slightly damp wall waiting for a witty response or reply of disgust. You remained quiet. “I want you to get off the shower floor and get some clothes on. I got a surprise waiting for you.”
With nothing left to say Dabi left you alone. You had low expectation when it came to a surprise from your kidnapper. Hell at least Belle was given a castle and had company in the form of talking dishware. A literal beast was outdoing Dabi, but that was to be expected since fairy tales were fake and Dabi wasn’t a prince. You didn’t rush to get ready which was fine by Dabi. He sat on the couch waiting with all the necessary parts of his gift. Once you dried off and had clothing on you walked into the living room. You didn’t get to far before a bag was thrown at you. Eyes wide you move quickly to catch it before it could hit you or the ground. In the bag was a strange variety of items, that separate made no sense but together made a brilliant gift. With raised brows you pull out the first item which is a wig, with hair color different then your actual hair color, that looks so real you almost check for scalp pieces. Dabi gestures for you to keep going. With the wig on the table you pull out a small case, in it a pair of contacts that were very different from your actual eye color. The gifts were staring to create more questions and concern than pleasure or happiness. The next few items were miscellaneous pieces of clothing, all dark clothed and plain enough that they would bring attention to you. A scarf and glasses also appeared from the bottom of the bag. The only theory that you could piece together made you laugh at how ridiculous it was. The more you looked at the items on the table together the more you realized that maybe it wasn’t ridiculous. You look at Dabi skeptically as you point to the confusing surprise. “What the hell is this.”
“It’s a disguise.” Your heart stopped for a second. Could this really be happening? You look at him with pleading eyes begging for this to be real and not some kind of sick joke or trick. “You’re gonna need it to leave the apartment.”
There was no way that this was real. You must have died for real. You suck in a breath, holding it in while your chest shakes with your shoulders. You are trying to prevent yourself from crying. You still refused to believe this cruel trick. The costume pieces sat staring at you, this was farfetched. Dabi was expecting more excitement, to be praised, he should have expected that you would be skeptical. Instead of criticizing you he walks up next to before smacking your back. “Go get ready I’m not waiting all day.”
“Yes okay, I’ll be right back. You are not allowed to change your mind!” You had never moved so fast before in your life. Before being kidnapped you would have spent a good amount of time preparing to go out, especially with Shoto but right now you were throwing everything on with haste. You pulled on a pair of black leggings and over those a simple enough deep blue skirt. It was above your knees and for a moment you felt like a high schooler again. The top was long sleeve and didn’t matter because a hoodie went right over it. The hoodie wasn’t bulky and instead was light weight and thinner. The hood was most likely to hide your face if necessary. The wig was most likely the most expensive item because it was definitely not a costume one. You had to giggle since it looked like you were cosplaying. Your contact covered eyes stared back at you in the mirror, your fingers ran through the wig. You didn’t look like you and this made you feel like you were being reborn. You were still Y/n and yet the girl that stared back wasn’t her. You were dead and this girl was alive, it was almost riveting. When you walked out of the bathroom Dabi looked you over, he smirked nodding with a look that told you he was impressed. You pretended like you didn’t care but you did. A little good attention wasn’t bad to want. You were starved for it so it was no shock that you didn’t shy away from his. You walked toward the door but he was faster blocking the exit. Your heart dropped thinking he was going to laugh and tell you this was a joke. Instead he placed the fake glasses onto your face. “There are a few rules your gonna have to follow.”
Relief washed over you as your fingers brushed the cool metal that framed the fake lenses. You listen to ever word. The basic rules were to not speak to or look at anyone long enough to be recognized, you weren’t allowed to use your quirk and if any heroes tried to approach you were to act shy and hide your face. You had a lot of rules about hiding your identity and yet here was the most recognizable villain ever. He smirked knowing you felt he was being hypocritical.
“Don’t worry Doll, I got someone for this.” He motioned toward his own face where his skin was held together by staples. You nodded not knowing exactly what he would do but not really caring. You got to leave and that was the most thrilling thing ever. He opened the door and you felt the cold hallway air hit your exposed skin, which wasn’t much. A giggle escapes as Dabi holds his hand out for you to take. You grab it with vigor ready to be alive again, even if it was just for a moment.
--------------------------------
You had no idea how he did it but Dabi looked like a normal person. Well normal to society. Personally, you didn’t mind how he looked. He took you another apartment in the same building. He walked in and walked out without staples or scars. The quick explanation he gave was that the persons quirk helped change how someone’s appearance looks to others. Sure, enough your fingers touched his face and you could feel the staples even though you couldn’t see them. Amazement, you were amazed at this quirk before you realized the quirk could have been used on you and you wouldn’t have needed to wear the get up. Dabi knew what you were thinking when you side glanced him.
“Don’t look at me like that doll. This was expensive, much more expensive than your get up. You can wear a costume; I can’t really cover this up.” You hadn’t even thought about him having to have paid for the quirk users help. Of course, in an underground world someone gets money any way they can. You laugh at his comment about covering up his face. You walk in front of him turning, your skirt swirls around with you as your fingers brush his cheek. Your eyes hold so much kindness. “You don’t need to cover up. I think your face is perfect.”
Dabi blinks, he doesn’t really know what to say. Mostly because he never mentioned being ashamed of his scars openly. He was though. He hated how he looked but lived with it since it was his choice, technically he was forced into something so dramatic by his abusive father. You didn’t need to compliment him; you didn’t owe him a smile. You were really a peculiar person. His arm slowly lifts before a flick is administered to your forehead. Your hand quickly moves to rub the spot while you face scrunches. “How sweet you think I’m covering up because I’m ashamed when really it’s because I’m a wanted criminal. I do appreciate it sweetheart. Better watch out, I know you’re touch starved but falling for your captor is kind of cliché. No Stockholm syndrome allowed here.”
Your face went from discomfort to embarrassed. You rush after him as he walks away with a cocky grin. You hit his shoulder before walking next to him.
“I would never fall for you.”
“I know because you have your AmaZinG Shoto you love so much.” You hear Shoto’s name and feel angry again. You grab Dabi’s hand, holding it while you both leave the apartment building. He laughs knowing that you had nothing to say because it was a touchy subject. The moment you both felt the cool fall air blow by the anger you feel dissolves replaced with excitement. You are free, this was what a caged bird feels when it gets to spread its wings. You didn’t even care that you had no idea where this was. Your legs moved you off the front steps of the neglected building and you spun around on the sidewalk. Dabi laughed while his hands pushed into his pockets. He walked onto the sidewalk after you. You stopped spinning turning to him with an appreciative smile. He didn’t deserve it but he accepted it. His hand gestures forward and you grab onto him once again. You link arms with him making him raise a brow. You don’t care about his reaction because you aren’t going to let anything take away your happiness. You let him lead the way, walking passed rundown buildings and sketchy people. You don’t want to judge but it definitely wasn’t a part of town you would have been found in prior to dying. The dirty sidewalks, seedy businesses, and rundown buildings soon enough turn to crowded sidewalks and streets, large and small businesses, and hero agencies. Oh god, you looked down as you passed an agency you didn’t recognize. Dabi laughs because most kidnapped people would go screaming the first sign of ‘help’ while you were acting like you were also a wanted criminal. You looked away from the looming agency building and around the street. People walked right by you never even questioning who you were. They didn’t care. You weren’t Y/n right now, just a stranger. Dabi didn’t understand how you felt so content with being around strangers. He didn’t understand because he didn’t like people and they didn’t tend to like him. Watching you intrigued him, you didn’t run away, you hadn’t stopped smiling, and you hadn’t mentioned Shoto.
“Da-Um Dante, can we get something to drink?” You almost said his name but stopped quickly changing it to the first thing you could think of. This fake name amused Dabi causing him to smirk, not only that but he was also smirking because you asked for a drink. He wanted so badly to tease you but for some reason couldn’t find himself doing so. “Sure, doll.”
“Let’s go to that café, I want something warm with whipped cream.” Your arm released his so you could pull him along. The café wasn’t to busy and Dabi was grateful. He watched you look over the menu mouthing the items to yourself. The cashier called you forward asking your order. You ordered a large hot chocolate with extra whipped cream. The cashier smiled at your simple order before looking at Dabi.
“And would your boyfriend like something as well.” Boyfriend? Your face scrunched up like you had just smelled a soiled diaper. Dabi couldn’t hold back the laugh that escaped. The cashier could have thought you were siblings but of course you had to be dating him. Before you could comment about him not being your boyfriend he stepped forward, his arm going around your waist to help pull you to his side. He leans closer to the counter. “I’ll have a black coffee.”
“Da-” Before you could say his real name by accident his grip tightened and he gave you a look that warned you. You pouted before pulling away. He paid as you went off to find a table. You found on in a corner against the window, which was exciting to you because you could watch the people. Dabi found you daydreaming, your head in your hand while your eyes watched some high school students taking pictures together.
“God, they look stupid, poor uninformed youth. Little do they know what the pitiful future holds.” You stared across at him as he looked at the teens with a completely opposite viewpoint. A cream packet hit Dabi prompting him to bring his attention back at you. You were displeased with his commentary. “Really? Because that’s truly how everyone’s life is destined to turn out. I’d like to believe that those kids are going to grow up and enjoy life, they might change the world or make a big difference. I know you have your reasons to not enjoy life but that doesn’t mean everyone is going down the same path. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy.”
“Hit a nerve, did I?” Dabi had almost forgotten that you both came from different worlds. While you believed in hope, he had none. Hope was for children, for fools. You however knew the cruelties of the world and still help onto the sliver of hope you had left. These kids were you. They laughed and you remembered when you were their ages, laughing with your own friends. Now you were trapped, a prisoner of your own accord. Regardless you did not find him funny or charming. “Such a prick.”
“Never said I was anything else.” He was annoying and arrogant but honest. He never pretended he was a gentleman; you chose to believe he could be one. You couldn’t argue with him. It also wasn’t worth ruining your time outside the apartment. This outing was yours not his.
“Your drinks.” You thanked the barista who dropped off your order. You held the cup a gentle smile crossing your lips. Dabi didn’t touch his drink, instead he was watching the people outside. His own thoughts bringing him to think about your future. He wasn’t planning on keeping you around forever but his plan was working slowly. You were now intertwined with his life. He thought about you every time he left the apartment. You could have escaped but you hadn’t even tried. It was like his promise to release you was good enough to calm you, to make you trust him. His eyes watched you through the window, your reflection seen from his angle. The way you licked the whipped cream from your lips caught his attention. He looked beyond your reflection and at the people passing, not wanting to get to invested in watching you. He wondered how long you’d spend running around the city till he’d have to drag you back.
----------------------------------
six hours had come and gone and yet to you it was minutes. You had missed the fresh air, the sunlight dancing on your skin, and the chatter of people around you. You had actually had conversations with strangers, you spoke to people and they spoke with you. It was thrilling and yet as the sun started setting you knew that it would be ending soon. Your face fell with your shoulders at the idea of going back. Dabi would have went back by now but you wanted to stay out and this was all for you. He drank the subpar coffee, walked the crowded stores, ate overpriced food, and even let you get close to people and conversate despite the risk. The streetlights turned on and it seemed even more people were out. Dabi’s phone was vibrating against his leg, his hand reached into his pocket to pick it up. You were watching one of the TV sets that was playing a news station. He hesitated before disappearing down an empty alleyway to answer the call.
“I told you not to call me today.” The irritation was clear in Dabi’s a statement.
“I’m well aware of what you told me it’s just that we have a problem.”
“What problem is to big for pro hero hawks that he has to call a villain to get help from.”
“Shoto.”
There was a brief moment of silence, tension in the air and through the phone. Dabi thought things were moving slowly so now he was sure that the pro’s need for revenge was dwindling. The sidekick in the photo came to mind. Maybe there were to many distractions, maybe he needed a push in the right direction. A reminder of his loss.
“What’s the problem.”
“He hasn’t been coming by endeavors agency and I haven’t seen much of him even in the district. He might be planning something but currently he is avoidant of his father and thus is getting in the way of the plan.”
Dabi was right, but of course he was right, brother’s intuition. This was beyond irritating news but he was already formulating a plan. That plan needed to happen, now. He could hear the phone move away from his informant, hawks, followed by whispering. The person speaking in the background had no idea that their precious hero was helping destroy the current number one. Dabi hung up the call and texted hawks a brief warning. Looked like it was time to send you home. The moment he left the alleyway he found you were gone. Of course, you were gone. He disappeared without telling you where he was going. Hell, he wouldn’t be shocked if you finally gathered the courage and common sense to run away. Before he could even begin to question your whereabouts, he saw you. You were leaning against a clothing store with your hands held in front of you. A stray tear was making its way down your cheek as you looked into the night sky above. The lights and clouds forming made it hard to see any stars. Dabi walked through the crowds of people with only you in his sights. Why were you crying? His hand reached for you but retracted immediately when he watched someone else catch your tear. His body stood frozen amongst a group of business men while his worst fear surfaced.
“Are you okay? I saw you and couldn’t help coming over here. You look so sad, familiar and sad.” Standing in front of you, so close his breath touched your face, was red riot. He was in disguise just like you were but not as intense. He wore a hoodie to cover his hair which was down instead of spiked. A mask hid his rows of shark like teeth and his casual clothing made his build less noticeable. You knew who he was even before you looked at him. His voice laced with concern and care was more familiar than his looks to you. He wasn’t a close friend but if you were friends with Eijiro Kirishima he thought the world of you, would die or kill for you. He was ride of die and right now he was talking to a dead friend with no clue. Your throat tightened and fear pulsed through your veins. Fear of being caught? Dabi taught you that, that being caught was bad, that if this plan didn’t happen then things would end up so much worse. Fear wasn’t the only thing you felt. You wanted to lean into his hand when it caught your tears. You yearned for his attention, for physical contact from a past that seems so far away regardless of how much time it had really been. You look into his kind crimson eyes and realize that maybe he was trying to figure out who you were. He looked curious but there was a hint of confusion. He was wondering why you were familiar and the only thought he had made no sense. If you talked, he would figure it out. You were literally stuck between a rock and a hard place.
“I…” You didn’t have to speak because someone else spoke up instead. Dabi’s hand yanked you away from the wall and into his side. He turned you till your chest was pressed into his own, hiding your familiar features away from the prying heroes’ eyes. He knew that his own self was way more familiar but with this quirk hiding his distinct features he didn’t worry about getting caught. Dabi’s piercing stare causes Kirishima to back up, his hands raised in surrender.
“Are you bothering my girlfriend.” Dabi’s voice was distinct and yet when he spoke, he sounded like someone else. He had spoken with a deep growl that fit his usual tone but something was off. Somehow, he wasn’t Dabi talking. You couldn’t be offended by his words since he was saying them to save the both of you. Yet deep down you weren’t disgusted or offended, instead hearing him growl with a twinge of overprotective jealousy made your heart skip a beat. The way he held onto you in a tight possessive manner made you almost fall for the false title as his girlfriend.
“I didn’t mean any harm. I saw her crying and she seemed sad so I wanted to make sure she was okay… She reminded me of a friend I recently lost.” Kirishima was never the type to make trouble but he did find himself stumbling upon it quite often. He sounded sincere and didn’t want Dabi to get the wrong idea. You knew Dabi didn’t actually believe you were being harassed; he was preventing you both from getting involved in something that would jeopardize everything. The part that really hit you hard was his last sentence. You reminded him of you. He approached you hoping to ease your pain but also because he wished you were the real thing. The harsh reality being that you were the real you and he wasn’t allowed to know that. He was mourning you as well and he wanted to look into your eyes and see the girl that used to go drinking with the Bakusquad. Instead he saw your glossy tear covered contacts. He saw the fake you and was reminded that people don’t just come back from the dead. You had to bite your bottom lip to prevent yourself from running to him, to prevent a slip up just because you wanted to give him reassurance. Dabi’s grip on you tightened, as if he knew what you were contemplating. “She’s fine, just got lost in the crowd. Thanks for the worry but we must get going. Sorry about your friend.”
“Hey! As Dabi turned away from Kirishima to walk away with you, a voice called out to the red head. Your body got tense and Dabi recognized it as he jolted his head back toward the hero. Bakugou was in his own shitty disguise walking toward his best friend. Kirishima was a good boy, someone who wouldn’t harass strangers, Bakugou wasn’t the same way. If he thought you were familiar, he would interrogate you. Dabi was ready to use his quirk to escape if needed, ideally he would prefer not to. “Come on shitty hair, let’s go.”
“Sorry… I forgot we were supposed to meet up. I saw this girl and she reminded me of Y/n.” Dabi was already pulling you away again the moment he realized Bakugou hadn’t noticed the two of you. The crowd started to swallow you up but you could still make out what Kirishima had sadly spoken, you also heard Bakugou’s response. “Idiot, she’s dead. You gotta stop looking for her, you’re starting to act like Icy Hot.”
You let yourself be dragged down streets and away from the lit-up buildings. Your day had already faded to night and now you knew where you were headed. Dabi was obviously taking you home and surprisingly you didn’t mind. It had been fun but, after hearing your former friends talk about you as if you were a ghost, the fun dissipated into self-loathing. At some point Dabi wasn’t holding your arm anymore, instead you followed slightly behind him as he led you back. He would have told you that it was time to return but he knew that you were well aware. Your mood had soured and he wasn’t going to contribute more than he had. The apartment building was dark when you arrived outside it. You would easily enough deem it an abandoned building had you not been living here. Dabi held the front door open for you allowing you to walk through the doorway and into the hallway with the flickering yellow bulbs. Dabi walked behind you occasionally telling you where to turn, until you got to the apartment. He let you inside and went to apologize but you had already started heading to your bedroom. He planned on leaving immediately but that didn’t happen. He followed you inside, his phone discarded on the table as it attempted to interrupt him.
“Did you have a good day?” You stopped outside the bedroom door and thought about the hours outside these walls. Despite how it ended you did have fun. Hell, you had a blast just being out in the fresh air, surrounded by people and bustling buildings. It was sad that you found satisfaction in freedom but who wouldn’t after living their life locked up for an undetermined amount of time. A small smile graced your lips as you pulled off the wig. You held it in your hand as your hair settled down back against your face. You turned and looked your captor, friend? in the eyes.
“I had a good day, thank you Dabi.” You open the bedroom door before disappearing into the room leaving Dabi a little surprised by your answer. His shoulders shake when he starts laughing. He really had no idea what to think of you. He walked away from the door calling out to you that he was leaving. Without a response from you he left. You didn’t cry once you were alone. Instead you sat on the floor with your head in your hands replaying the boy’s words. Kirishima thought you were familiar, Bakugou had to remind him that you were dead and yet you were pulling a fast one on them. Had it been Shoto would he have known? Would he instantly know despite the layers of disguise? Would Midoriya have known it was you. Would he have chased you down? These words meant nothing because there was no way to test if this would happen. Had Shoto shown himself on the crowded street Dabi would have taken you home immediately. He didn’t find the others a threat, Shoto was a pawn so of course him seeing you was a threat.
Bzzt bzzt bzzt. The sound of vibrating could be heard coming from the living room. An eyebrow raised as you sat up, getting off the floor. Had Dabi not actually left? You dragged yourself down the hall finding that you were alone in the apartment. The only thing out of place was Dabi’s phone sitting on the table. The entire time you had been here Dabi hadn’t let his phone out of his sight. You wondered if this was a trap as you approached it. The screen was lit up and you saw a text waiting to be read. The missed call notification was below the text box. You read the contact name. You didn’t have to decipher the insulting nickname; You knew that the person trying to get ahold of Dabi was Hawks. You unlocked his phone, you had seen the code before when he hadn’t realized you were watching, the text popped up. You tried to ignore snooping through the previous messages and instead opted to read only the ones that had just arrived.
[I know you already have your mind set on this but maybe rethink this. I don’t think it’s going to go the way you want it to.]
[Are you ignoring my calls on purpose?]
[You can’t kill Shoto’s new sidekick. It messes up your plan against Endeavor.]
[Shoto just left the agency…]
The words reflected off your drying eyes as you read through the texts. Your heart had started racing as you read what his intensions were tonight. What had led him to this decision? Had you contributed to his idea to kill her. You didn’t want to be the reason an innocent life was taken even if you held hatred for her that very morning. This couldn’t be happening. Had Dabi had his phone would the texts change his mind. Had you known his plan prior to him leaving would you have been able to stop him. Your grip on his cell tightened as you decided what needed to done. You hadn’t taken off your disguise, it was dark outside, and you had a shit ton of adrenaline coursing through you. You held onto the phone as you ran out the door making sure it locked before you disappeared down the dully lit hallway. The outside world was much darker and colder than it had been earlier. You had no idea where to look for him but you realized that he might have mentioned a location. You checked back through the texts but found no location, instead a lot of conversations about Endeavors demise and Shoto’s involvement. You went to the internet looking for answers to where the sidekick could be. You found a tweet the showed a picture that had been taken ten minutes prior. The photo had the girl posing with a large electric building clock in the background. You knew where this was and the time gave you an idea of how long ago this was actually taken. You hoped you’d make it in time. You were suddenly hit with the fear that Dabi wouldn’t hesitate to hurt you if you tried to stop him. You let the fear settled in your stomach while your legs sent you flying down streets. People looked at you like you were crazy and the funny thing was you were thinking the same thing. You were crazy, this was all insane. The craziest part being your conflict over whether you were doing this to save an innocent girl or because you didn’t want Dabi getting caught. A groan of frustration left you as you found the building the photo was taken in front of. Your legs were throbbing from running. You were curious as to why a sidekick under Endeavor would be so far from their district. You looked around while overthinking everything. You needed to figure out where she would go and where Dabi would ambush her. An alley would be his primary choice and there were plenty of those around. You ran around asking people if they had seen her, using Dabi’s phone to show the picture. People thought you were some crazed fan before pointing you off in different directions. Eventually you felt defeated, like all this was for nothing. What if Dabi had realized his phone was missing and went back to get it. He would definitely be on his way to kill you. The alternative thought was that the girl was already dead. Your feet begged for you to stop walking. You just about gave up when the most putrid smell hit you. Your hands covered your nose and mouth. You gagged. The smell brought you closer and closer to the truth. You followed it knowing what it was. The smell of charred flesh, burning hair, boiling blood. The smell of overcooked organs and crackling bones.
“Dear god.” You found her. You found her the exact way you hoped not to. What was left of her corpse was enough to identify her. Her teeth could be seen since her lips and the skin around them was burned away. Her gums had burns as well, her tongue was nonexistent. Her eyes seemed to have boiled but you could still make out her warped irises. He didn’t burn away all of her hair; you could see slight strands sticking to what skin remained on her scalp. Her body was worse off. You couldn’t look at her any longer. You turned sobbing into the same hands that prevented the smell from invading your nose. You could prevent the smell from getting stuck in your nose. You would remember this smell for the rest of your life, her burnt corpse would live in the darkest recesses of your mind. Your legs were starting to lose their ability to remain standing. You wanted nothing more than to escape this hellscape you had searched for. You glanced back again at her before quickly looking away again. Sobs slipped out as you mourned her, a stranger who this morning you wished didn’t exist. It was ironic really. You could help but blame yourself. “I’m so sorry… I didn’t want this to happen.”
You showered yourself in blame but the reality was that Dabi needed Shoto to remember you, to remember his need for revenge, and in order to achieve that Shoto needed to be reminded what you had supposedly gone through. Except you were actually alive and this girl wasn’t. You finally snapped out of it enough to want to leave. Dabi was obviously gone which meant you were limited on time to get back before he saw you were gone. You pulled out the phone and realized there was another missed call from Hawks. You opened the voicemail and had in playing in your ear.
“Dabi! You have to get the hell out of there. She sent an emergency alert and Shoto is looking for her. He’s on his way there now.”
Fear once again crept over you as you let your arm drop down to your side. The phone light cast a shadow on the wall and revealed someone approaching. Suddenly the alleyway felt warm and yet chills engulfed your body. You turned slowly as you felt the intruder staring at you.
“Shoto…” You whispered his name, a million feelings trying to surface but all you could do was smile sadly. You never thought about the body sitting behind you and the smell no longer existed as you watched him walk closer. You were unaware of what he was thinking, what he was feeling. He was already upset that day, his anger waiting to surface and now it was bubbling out in the form of ice creeping down the alley way ground and heat burning along the walls. The light from the phone had disappeared as the screen blackened. The light was now being cast from the Shoto’s flames. The closer Shoto got the ore he could see. He was staring at a woman in a black hoodie, dark skirt, and black leggings. A woman with unfamiliar hair and eyes. He was staring at a stranger. You were a stranger standing in front of a dead body. The charred disfigured corpse of his newest sidekick. You weren’t a stranger anymore but instead a villain. This wasn’t a case of stumbling upon a dead body, No. To Shoto he had arrived late and you hadn’t left on time. You stepped to the side as if you were expecting him to walk past you. It was a mistake. He was able to see her body, your own demise came flying to the forefront of his mind. You had been a pile of ash and she was still recognizable but the two were far too similar. He looked at you and for a moment you thought he saw the real you. His hand raised and you couldn’t help smiling, imagining his hand cupping your cheek. His arms around you holding you. Instead his eyes held pain, pure unadulterated hatred. His flames danced across his body and you had no time to react as they were sent directly toward you. The alley way was blazing with fire and yet your feet were iced to the ground. There was no escape as you witnessed your fiancé look at you with the need for revenge, he wanted you dead. A sob escaped as the flames finally reached you. They dance lightly against your skin before dissipating. Red flames were now blue as a wall surrounded you. You had closed you eyes while waiting for death. You’d accepted this so easily but someone else wasn’t going to. You hadn’t realized that Dabi had come for you. When he saw Shoto he knew it wasn’t going to go the way your imagination wanted it to. He knew the broken man would try to kill you. His flames burned hotter than Shoto’s which he used to his advantage. He protected you by burning away the flames that attempted to swallow you up. His body emerged from the blue inferno. The quirk that had hid his flaws was gone. His face was back to being graphed and stapled, his eyes burned with as much hatred as Shoto’s. His hatred was conflicted, he hated Shoto for trying to hurt you and he hated himself for ever putting you in this situation. You were sobbing on your knees as you heard Shoto screaming out in frustration. Dabi laughed at his pathetic brother as he walked in front of you. His flames still wildly blazing around you, never actually touching you.
“You killed her… It was you. You killed the love of my life. That girl you’re protecting, I bet you love her. I bet you’d be destroyed of she died. I’ll take her from you. I’ll make you regret ever taking Y/n.” Shoto was fast as he rushed Dabi, but Dabi was faster to defend and retaliate. You couldn’t move as Shoto’s words echoed through you. You could feel how broken he was and all you could think about was how you were the one who did this to him. Regret burned hotter than the flames. You watched Dabi and Shoto move like a well-choreographed dance. Never hitting the other as flames and ice clashed. The wall of ice thrust in front of Dabi was shattered with a sharp punch from the raven-haired boy. Shoto moved forward while droplets of water rained down as his ice was melted. His hands finally reached Dabi as they took ahold of his throat. Dabi lifted his own hand thrusting it against the duel quirked boys face. His quirk activated causing Shoto to release him while yelling out in pain. His face wasn’t burned but it was red, irritation from the heat evident on his skin. Dabi approached him while rubbing his throat which now had hand marks on it. He stood in front of his clueless brother.
“I didn’t kill her. Endeavor killed her, just like he killed your brother. Endeavor is somewhere laughing at you as you spiral out of control. I’m having doubts that you ever loved her because if you had then he’d be dead. Had you really loved her maybe she’s be alive right now.” Dabi was letting his emotions take control as he taunted the pro hero. He wanted Shoto to hurt physically and mentally. He wanted him to suffer even after he killed endeavor and got you back. At this rate he might not even want to give you to a man that he felt didn’t deserve you. Shoto let the words settle, to dig under his skin. He wasn’t about to let Dabi get away with his statement, or any of his actions. He wasn’t going to go for the villain. He was going to go for you. His ice shot him upward giving him an advantage. Dabi was ready for the attack but it never came. Instead he became all to aware of the fact that you hadn’t fled the scene. “Dammit.”
“No hard feelings.” Shoto spoke directly to you as he dropped from his ice wall beyond the blue flames. He landed in front of you so close you could touch him. You looked up at him slowly lifting your hand toward him hoping he would take it. He slapped it away looking at you with disgust. To him you were begging for your life, looking for repentance. He had none to give you. You wanted him to looked past the contacts, through the wig. Why couldn’t he see you? You smiled sadly mouthing an I love you before closing your eyes. Tears dripped down your still burning cheeks. It was as if the next few moments happened in slow motion. Shoto moved his hand hovering above you as the fire engulfed the world around you. You felt the pain set in dragging a scream from deep within your chest. It was searing pain that didn’t fade even as the flames disappeared with the burning of Shoto’s body. The flames burned a blue so bright they were almost white. Dabi’s body burned with his quirk use. The smell of hair and skin burning once again invaded your senses and you had no idea if you were smelling yourself or one of them. Shoto was yelling out in pain while Dabi yelled with anger. The moment returned to normal speed as you heard Hawks yelling above. “SHOTO STOP!!!” Shoto looked up as well had Dabi. Immediately he knew this was his time to get the hell out of there. He ran past his brother, both men in excruciating pain. Shoto reached out to stop him but he hesitated when he heard Hawks screaming for him to back down. He could hear the sirens as he watched Dabi collect you into his arms. He was trying to put as little pressure on your new wounds as he could while carrying you. In your delirious pained state, you reached your left hand out toward him. He had to have been delirious himself because he could have sworn that the villain girl, he had just tried to kill was missing her ring finger, the same finger that was left for him.
“Y/n.” Your name slipped from his lips as you were carried away from the scene. Your eyes closed and you drifted off into a nightmare that resembled the moments that had transpired that night. Dabi brought you home cursing himself and everything around him. He punched the wall cracking it. He growled as his back hit the same wall he just punched. He didn’t understand why he wanted so badly to kill Shoto right now but he knew that it was all because of you. You were supposed to be a small pawn to get the game going, to get it closer to the climax and now you were involved deeper than he wanted. You were never supposed to get hurt, not like this. Looking at your burned skin, relieved that the burns weren’t third degree. He was able to protect you but wished he had done more. You should have been unscathed and yet you lay on the couch marked due to his own family’s mistakes.
“I’m so sorry Y/n.” He moved to the front of the couch his hand brushing your scorched cheek. The wig had basically burned away and the contacts needed to be removed before they caused permanent damage to your eyes. A knock on the door told him that help had arrived.
--------------------
Hours had gone by and you remained in a mindscape that resembled hell. Shoto continuously killing you while you felt and watched every moment. He reminded you about how you didn’t matter to him, that he never loved you and yet his eyes said they did. It was a cruel world to be trapped in. Slowly thought that world faded and you could see a dull light behind your heavy lids. You could hear a voice gently speaking to you, apologies and promises. When you finally found the strength to open your eyes you found Dabi staring at you. His eyes looked sad but that quickly changed to shock as he realized you were awake. He smirked, or at least tried to.
“I guess true loves kiss does wake a princess.” You scoffed before attempting to slap him. You body was sore but when you saw your skin you had no burns. There were slight markings that made you think that you had been in much worse shape. Dabi was smiling at you as he sat back sighing in relief. You attempted to sit up and he was quick to move and help you. He held your back pulling you up without hurting you. You thanked him and he nodded before getting you a glass of water. He almost dropped it when he saw that you were crying. The glass was left on the coffee table as his arms reached around you. He hadn’t hugged many people in his life but he knew that it held the power to help. You clung to him sobbing into his shoulder, screaming practically. It was painful for Dabi to hear and t reminded him of his newest hatred for Shoto. His hands held you protectively, comfortingly. You held onto him crying until your throat was raw and your tear ducts dried. Eventually it was just you being gently rocked by Dabi as hiccupped sobs continued to escape.
“What do I do know Dabi. What do I do when I died for him and he tried to kill me? I used to dream of our reunion, it was beautiful and full of tears and love. Now when I close my eyes, I picture the flames, the screaming. I hear his words as he tries to kill me. I can feel the look of disgust and hatred.” You had to cover your mouth to try and stop the oncoming panic attack. You wanted to scream but couldn’t. “What do I do when all that kept me alive was the idea of being free to be me again, but the world doesn’t need me in it. He doesn’t need me. I’m a villain in his eyes and I think he might be one in mine now. What is there left for me now.”
“Stop. Please stop. I need you Y/n.” Dabi pulled you against his chest as his lips crashed into your own. A moment of pure emotion and adrenaline. He promised to himself, as his lips molded to yours, that he would make things right for you even if that meant giving up his plan.

Flower Crown
(Prince!Shoto Todoroki x Male!Bodyguard!Reader)
~
“My prince!” Y/n shouted at the wooden barrier and huffed. Why do they both have to do this every single day and how does he himself still put up with this? He huffed again and knocked even harder with his knuckles, his other hand skillfully holding a tray of breakfast for two. Right, apparently being the personal bodyguard for the prince also meant being his personal servant. But, Y/n would admit, he doesn’t mind that much.
A muffled groan could be heard from the other side of the door. “...five more minutes.”
Y/n groaned alongside Todoroki. “You have to wake up sooner or later.” He knocked some more on the door. “I won’t stop either, so could you please open the door at least?” And he added another please just in case. “....please?”
Shuffling was heard from the other side and then, the door opened, revealing the tired and adorably sleepy person behind it.
Todoroki’s eyes were half closed, his hair was a mess with red and white strands intertwining together, and his pajamas were wrinkled. But he couldn’t look any cuter.
“Mmm.” Was all Todoroki could say.
Y/n grinned brightly. “Good morning to you too!” Todoroki stared at him sleepily for a second before reaching his hand out and grabbed at his sleeve, pulling him inside his bedroom. Y/n laughed. “Hold on, I’m going to drop the breakfast.” Todoroki let out a hum and wrapped his arms around Y/n’s torso just as the door shut closed behind them both.
They did this every morning too. Apparently, a sleepy Todoroki means a cuddly Todoroki too. But Y/n doesn’t mind and nuzzles his cheek against Todoroki’s messy hair.
“Come on Shoto, freshen up and we’ll eat together.” Todoroki nodded slowly against his chest and pulled away, shuffling to the bathroom. Y/n chuckled and set the tray down at Todoroki’s table.
~
“Fu yu bwanna go to te garrden?” Y/n asked Todoroki through a mouthful of food.
“Manners Y/n.” He reminded him. “And yes, you know I always want to....with you at least.” Y/n gave Todoroki that lopsided smile that he was always weak to.
“Oh! I also learned how to make a flower crown!” Y/n happily said.
“Really? How?”
“Mina taught me!” Y/n said proudly and paused in his eating. “Though it’s not as good looking as hers.”
“I’m sure yours look just as great.” Y/n beamed brightly at that, almost as bright as the sunrise behind him through the window. Todoroki thinks to himself he might go blind someday.
~
“Aaand there! It should be done.” Y/n finally finished what he was doing and turned back around to Todoroki. “Tada!” And showed him the flower crown. “What do you think?”
Lopsided, messy, uneven. “It’s....pretty.”
Y/n held the crown as gently he can and lifted it to Todoroki’s head, letting the crown drop and rest there, adjusting it so it looks somewhat nice and secure. “There, that looks better than the crown your dad makes you wear sometimes.”
“Maybe I should wear it from now on.” Todoroki mused. Y/n eyes lit up.
“Really? That would be awesome!” Y/n faltered. “I mean, if you’re okay with it...”
“I am....it makes me happy.” He hopes he doesn’t sound too weird. Though, judging by the grin Y/n sent his way, he’s guessing it didn’t come out as weird as he thought it did.
They both continued walking through the garden. Y/n would (not so smoothly) brushed his knuckles against Todoroki’s occasionally, but stopped once the prince gave him a sharp look. They couldn’t been seen together. Or, at least, romantically. Luckily though, he and him are basically by each other’s side all day, so it’s not hard to slip in a few gentle touches and kisses.
Though there is one place they both could do whatever they want.
A beautiful tree stood tall at the corner of the garden, with long hanging branches that sway back and forth from the winds and leaves that can hide just about anything from prying eyes. It’s a place where he and Todoroki can relax and do whatever they want, including making out. Though today doesn’t feel like that kind of day, so they both settled on sitting on the ground and leaning against the tree, admiring the sounds of the birds chirping and branches swaying.
“Oh, it’s almost lunchtime isn’t it?” Y/n suddenly spoke up, looking at Todoroki for confirmation. Todoroki nodded his head against Y/n’s shoulder quietly, but his arms that were wrapped around his tightened.
“I’m not hungry, let’s eat later.” He said. Right after that, his stomach growled loudly. Y/n rolled his eyes.
“Shoto, please don’t starve yourself.” Y/n patted his head before peeling Todoroki off of him and standing up. “And since I know you won’t eat if I don’t make you, I’ll get lunch myself, for the both of us.” Todoroki pouted, and Y/n felt him smile at the sight. It’s too cute. “Come on Sho, you’re a big boy so I’m sure you can handle being by yourself.” Upon hearing that, Todoroki pouted even more, looking at him with his big heterochromic eyes. Y/n couldn’t help himself when he leaned down and moved Todoroki’s bangs aside to kiss his forehead. Todoroki felt himself smile a bit when Y/n parted his bangs unevenly, somehow.
“Alright, I know what you’re trying to do.” Y/n chuckled and stood up, starting to walk to the kitchens. “But not today!”
Todoroki felt himself grumble. Some days it work, some days it doesn’t. And today’s the latter. He crosses his arms and leaned his back against the tree again. Something shifted above his head while doing so, and he remembers he’s still wearing the flower crown. Curious, he took it off to observe it closely since he didn’t get the chance to before Y/n had put it atop his head.
Y/n’s hands are used to fighting, they’re rough and are usually handling strong forces. So it isn’t a surprise the flower crown he made is on the verge of just, collapsing. Todoroki pokes a yellow pedal and watched as it straight up falls off of the crown and landed onto his lap. Looking back up, he could see the whole crown was a mess. It’s lopsided, the stems of the flowers were bent at awlward places, the pattern of the crown is uneven, the pedals were almost falling off and everything was messy.
~
“Hey Sato- oooh, you’re making cookies??” Y/n stopped in his tracks and craned his neck to check out the oven baked goods when he passed by Sato in the kitchen, holding his and Todoroki’s tray of lunch.
Sato nodded. “Just chocolate.” Y/n lips pulled to the side in thought and before he could ask, Sato interrupted him. “No.”
Y/n sulked the whole way back to Todoroki.
~
Y/n wiped at his brow and held out a hand, panting and out of breath. “Alright, I think that’s enough for today.”
Todoroki’s shoulders sagged, his hands that were holding the sword falling by his side, the weapon now held in one of his hands loosely. He was also panting, his posture not as straight as it usually is.
Y/n ran a hand through his sticky hair and walked over to where he kept his water. Opening the canister up, he drank from it greedily, feeling his sweat run down his face. Whew, the prince can pack a punch....er technically a swing of a sword- ah whatever.
Todoroki watched the bodyguard drink the water, only coughing and averting his gaze when e/c eyes slid over to him. Y/n finished his water, holding it out to the prince. “Want some?” Todoroki nodded mutely, taking the canister of water from him with a small ‘thanks’. After a few moments, Todoroki looked back up only to snicker quietly upon noticing the h/c’s messy hair.
They both cleaned up the training grounds quickly (which was just a part of the garden that was devoid of any plants) and went back to inside the castle, as the sun was already setting.
“It’s about dinner time, go and clean up and I’ll bring up your dinner.” Y/n said, wiping his sweaty and sticky hair with a towel. Todoroki observed the h/c, a small smile resting on his lips. He leaned up, pressing a quick kiss to Y/n’s cheek before murmuring, “Love you.”
Y/n’s face exploded into a blush, his hands pausing from his wiping. Blinking with the blush still very visible on his face, he looked around quickly, and then threw the towel around the back of Todoroki’s neck, holding both ends of the towel.
Todoroki tilted his head. “What-”
Y/n pulled on the towel, causing Todoroki to lean forward. He felt his lips crash into the h/c’s, and immediately, he closed his eyes, savoring the kiss. After a few moments, they both pulled away and Y/n smiled brightly at his prince, whispering. “Love you too.”
~
The sky outside is dark. Todoroki sat on his bed, patiently waiting for Y/n. The bodyguard had insisted to wait for him, saying he had a surprise. Sitting in his quiet room, he could hear his own heartbeat. It was beating unusually fast.
His door opened and a head of h/c hair poked in. Todoroki looked up from where he was staring at his feet.Y/n had a big smile over his face, and was shaking. Probably with excitement, since he had to bite his lip to keep his smile from widening so much as it already had. He was hiding something behind him as well, which made Todoroki curious.
“Hey Shoto, I got something from the kitchen!” Y/n exclaimed happily and walked into the room, closing the door behind him with his foot. He walked on over to Todoroki, who was tilting his head, curious.
Y/n thrust his hands out, smiling. “I got us cookies!” Y/n plopped down next to Todoroki, giving him a cookie while he already started to eat his own. “I got it form Sato. I was about to get that for lunch earlier today but,” Y/n let out a laugh. “Hehe, he didn’t let me.”
Todoroki snickered. “That’s why you were a little sad after getting the lunch.” Y/n only shyly laughed some more, feeling embarrassed.
“Yeah.”
The two quietly ate their cookies, but both enjoyed the silence. Y/n’s eyes drifted towards his lover, but then behind him and noticed the flower crown he made earlier today.
“Hey, is that my flower crown? Why is it here?” Y/n asked. Todoroki jumped, startled at the noise of his voice suddenly speaking in the quiet room. Turning towards where Y/n was pointing, Todoroki could see what he was pointing at.
“Ah, I put it there earlier. If I wore it even more it would’ve fallen apart.” Todoroki said, gently picking up the crown to gaze at it. “I wish I could’ve worn it longer though.” And to be better put together but he won’t say that.
Y/n stared at him for several (long) moments. Just as he was about to ask the h/c what he was doing, Y/n shot up to his feet, a determined look on his face. “I’ll be right back, stay here!” Y/n almost tripped when rushing out of Todoroki’s room, but made it out none the less.
What was Y/n doing?
After about five minutes, Y/n scrambled back in through the door, holding a brand new flower crown in his hands.
“Here! I made you a brand new one!” Y/n exclaimed happily. Stopping just in front of the him, Y/n gently placed the new crown onto his head. “There, a brand new one to wear!”
“You do know that I am about to sleep.” Todoroki spoke up in amusement, watching as Y/n’s face fell into a pout.
“Aww, I just made you a brand new one though.” Y/n whined.
“And you can always make me a brand new one tomorrow.” He said. Y/n’s eyes lit up and he scratched his head sheepishly.
“Oh yeah.” Y/n shuffled closer to him, bending down just slightly to place a kiss upon his forehead. “Okay, first thing in the morning tomorrow I’ll make you a brand new one. Plus it helps me sharpen my flower crown making skills!”
Todoroki smiled and kissed the h/c. “Alright, now go to sleep before I have to kick you out.”
Y/n grinned brightly and sneaked in one more kiss before standing up. “Goodnight, Shoto.” He said right as he stopped by the door, a smile resting on his lips. Todoroki smiled back.
“Goodnight Y/n.” The door closed gently, leaving Todoroki alone in his room. Gently picking up the crown on his head and looking down at it, he could tell this crown wasn’t any better than the one Y/n made earlier. It was still clumsily made, lopsided, messy, and still uneven. But he realized something that he didn’t realize before.
It was so Y/n.
Meaning he absolutely loves it.
